As a Registered Nurse, Jessie has experience in managing patient care and promoting positive health outcomes for a wide range of acute and chronic patient conditions. She brings an in-depth understanding of patient/family and community perspectives on disease processes; having worked in both educational and clinical healthcare settings that included a large integrated healthcare delivery system in Springfield, Missouri.
Jessie is currently an adjunct faculty member at Ozarks Technical Community College and Southwest Baptist University. She has taught and is teaching various courses in nursing at the undergraduate and graduate level. She has expertise in evaluation strategies for nursing education and is an experienced test-item writer and nursing subject-matter expert for the NCLEX-RN; a board licensure examination for Registered Nurses. Her areas of research and interest include community-based healthcare, global health, addressing health disparities, chronic disease prevention and international nursing education/licensure, and evalutation topics. Her hobbies include being involved in community arts and wellness programs, gardening, and promoting community-based health activities.
Jessie has a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Liberty University, a BSN and an ASN from Southwest Baptist University. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Health Science (DHSc.) at A.T. Still Univeristy. You may contact Jessie via the following:
